By day I’m a Cyber Security Professional working for BT. I have over 9 years of professional experience in addition to having a lifelong interest in computers. Read below to find out more about my passion and expertise.
MY CAREER IN IT
A highly skilled, multi-certified senior IT professional with over 9 years of experience working for East Anglia's finest Managed Service Providers (MSPs).
Specialising in cloud infrastructure, in particular Microsoft 365 and Azure. Equally proficient with on-premise infrastructure with high-level knowledge and experience with various server, firewall, switches, AP's and other networking technologies.
More recently I have focussed my efforts on Cyber Security, having always tried to operate on a security-first, zero-trust mindset.

Career Timeline
Ever since I first got my hands on a computer at school using the famous BBC Micro computers and Acorns, I knew that I wanted a career involving computers. So over the next few years that followed I got stuck in learning as much about computers and IT as I could, including completing 5 years worth of courses at Suffolk New College which led on to doing voluntary work with Suffolk Constabulary.
2013
April 2013 marked the first step of my professional IT career which saw me join award-winning managed service provider Corbel as an apprentice and working my way up to earn a full-time position as Technical Consultant and then as Technical Support Engineer. So I can definitely vouch for apprenticeships and how worthwhile they can be if you have the willingness to learn and the drive to succeed.
2017
June 2017 after completing a training course and exams which means that I am now a Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert with proficiency in: Office 365, Windows 10, Exchange Server 2016 and Productivity. Latter years have seen me dabbling in a bit into telecoms becoming certified in 3CX and RingCentral.
2020
January 2020 I joined Heron IT as a Senior Technician. As part of my role I brought with me enterprise experience to a growing MSP. Enabling them to bring new skills in-house to be able to offer higher levels of support and expertise.
2021
July 2021 I started working as a Senior Technical Engineer at ICO Systems. Whilst there I was able to expand the networking knowledge of myself and the team. Taking on the lead responsibility of managing both internal and customer firewalls. This included the initial deployment, on-going maintenance and troubleshooting of any issues.
2022
Early January 2022 saw me expand on my certifications gaining the Watchguard Network Security certification, having passed the Network Security Essentials exam.
Late February 2022 saw me take on a whole new challenge and join one of the biggest global organisations in BT as a Cyber Security Professional. The role really fits with my ethos in helping others and protecting people and systems from various cyber threats.
